Bat-NEWS : DC’s 1966 Batman Comic Series Art

Announced this past week in California, DC Comics and Warner Bros. have released even more details about their upcoming Batman comic book series based on the hit 1966 television show. The new title is one of the many fruits that Warner Bros. plans to deliver as part of their highly anticipated Batman Classic Television Series licensing program. Due to arrive as a digital-first series this Summer, the upcoming series will be written by Jeff Parker and will feature a vast lineup of rotating artists beginning with Jonathan Case. All issues in the series will feature cover art by Mike Allred.
Kicking off with a story involving The Riddler, the series will eventually be collected in print after it finishes its run, much like DC’s Legends of the Dark KnightSmallville and Arrow  series.
“The juxtaposition of offering a retro BATMAN ’66 comic as a current and modern digital first title is fun. DC Entertainment is the most prolific producer of digital first comics and, as we work to create new and compelling content, this is a great way to also preserve the legacy of our characters. It’s exciting to roll out the new BATMAN ’66 comic as part of this bigger initiative with our Warner Bros Consumer Product partners.”
